Random I-Tunes Song of The Moment: Let it Rock by Bon Jovi

Time is Money by Seol-Ha Park Review:

A couple of gimmicks, one DVD and $45 bucks. Is it gem or is it rubble? Stay tuned to find out.

Effect

The meat of the DVD is a simple and visual bill change. There are a couple of routines showing you how to use it. Then there is another routine that uses a (supplied) gimmick for a very visual Torn and Restored bill.

Method

As mentioned above, gimmicks and bill switches are the methods. The bill switch is very simple and very visual. It does require that you pre-fold the bills in use. This method is combined with Jay Sankey's Full View Switch to create a very clever, easy to do and powerful effect that happens in the spectator's hand. The torn and restored bill gimmick allows you to do a very visual restoration. This one is not easily reset, so you won't be able to perform it over and over again.

Ad Copy Integrity

The ad copy is accurate, and the video demo is real. No complaints here.

Product Quality

The production quality is pretty bad. Bad lighting, grainy footage, and it uses subtitles - the performer/teacher speaks Korean. However, even with all the production issues and the language barrier, I was able to learn and see everything that I needed. The menu was a bit annoying, but it's bitter sweet. After every single section, the video stops and goes back to the menu. That got quite annoying after a while. However, it does allow you to skip over certain parts if you'd like.

Also, the DVD had an in depth over-the-shoulder view for each effect, in addition to the regular teaching segment, so when you wrap all this together, taking the good with the bad, the production qualities were deal-with-able.

Final Thoughts

The methods are doable and you'll learn them well on the DVD, but $45 bucks seems a bit on the pricey side; especially when you consider the poor production quality. If you liked the effects you saw in the trailer and you've got $45 bucks to spare, then you'll likely be happy with your purchase.

Final Verdict:
4 Stars with a Stone Status of Gem.

This effect looks really cool. I know you said there’s a gimmick/hook-up of some kind, but can you do this, in some way, with a borrowed bill? In other words, could I borrow a bill and change it into a piece of blank paper the size of a bill?

@Kevin – thanks for reading/watching the review. If you’re asking about the bill change that happens when you tap the bill on the back of your hand, then yes, you can borrow a bill. There is no hook up, etc. It’s just that you have to prepare the bill that will be switched in. But the bill being switched out can be borrowed.

Does the bill change works for bills with different sizes different colors?
