Random I-Tunes Song of The Moment: Eagles Fly by Sammy Hagar

It's true; Eagles Fly (thank you Sammy Hagar) . . . while watching this video, time (much like the eagle) doth fly. This is an excellent DVD for meant for the beginner, maybe even the younger generation of beginner. However, I think that every non-beginner should have this in his/her library.

First, this DVD covers classic, simple, easy to effects in many genres: cards, coins, rope, "misc.", mentalism, and more. There are many excellent moves, plots, and effects that have gone the way of the chastity belt. This DVD is a great reminder and a killer introduction to those concepts. Just about everything on the DVD is impromptu (assuming there's a deck of cards kickin' around or that you can borrow some coins).

You get to see (not learn) Johnny Thompson's unbelievable egg bag routine . . . probably the best I've seen. That alone is worth the purchase price . . . to see a pro do a pro act that looks like real magic. Looking at the list of effects, my guess is that most of you know most of them. However, you haven't seen them as simply performed, taught and explained as this. You haven't performed them for years. You should. For $35 bucks you get 20 professional, easy to master effects that should be in the reservoir of every magician if for no other reason than keeping the classics close to heart.

Additionally we receive some brief interview segments where Michael Ammar and Johnny Thompson discuss some basic thoughts and theories on magic. This are loaded with some simple great advice that we would all do well to remember.
