Random I-Tunes Song of The Moment: American Girls by Triumph

Insidious Review

One DVD, a couple of props, $25 bucks and one Insidious Review. Is it gem or is it rubble? Stay tuned to find out.

Insidious Review: Effect

This is sort of a poor man's copper/silver/brass routine. It includes a transposition of one object for two along with a kicker ending where a marked coin ends up in a matchbox that the spectator has been holding from the beginning.

Insidious Review: Method

The method requires some relatively standard sleight of hand and a simple homemade gimmick that'll take you about 5 minutes to make. The transpositions and other effects occur with a small key, a dirty (i.e., blackened with a Sharpie), and a quarter that has been marked with the spectator's initials. You are supplied with the key and the matchbox. You'll have to supply your own quarters and sleight of hand. The matchbox and key are ungimmicked. They are included, however, because they are the right size to make the effect work a little bit more effectively. With some standard coin sleight of hand and some practice, anyone can do this.

Insidious Review: Ad Copy Integrity

This is the kind of ad copy I love! They nailed it. They covered everything. They all but tip the method in the ad copy. An A-Plus for this one folks.

Insidious Review: Product Quality

The DVD is thorough, well produced, and covers everything in great depth. The supplied key and matchbox are excellent quality. The matchbox is ungimmicked, but a little bit larger to accommodate larger coins and to make the final move (something out of Tarbell) a lot easier to perform. A lot of thought and detail went into the production of what you, as a customer, will receive. There's even an extra YouTube video link for instructions on putting the matchbox together.

Insidious Review: Final Thoughts

If you like the idea of a C/S/B routine with everyday objects, then you'll you love this. It's simple to learn and comes with everything you need except for a few quarters and a Sharpie marker. All this for only $25 bucks is a very reasonable asking price.

Final Verdict:
5 Stars with a Stone Status of Gem.
