Random I-Tunes Song of The Moment: Running On Faith by Eric Clapton

Sometimes I get product for review that on the surface doesn't seem very interesting to me. I try to watch it, but I something always distracts me. For some reason, this DVD was one of those. However, It was one of the oldest items on my list so I had to get to it sooner rather than later. I was Running on Faith (Thank you Eric Clapton) in the hopes that it would be worth my time.

You know what they say, "Faith Proceedeth The Miracle." Never has the old adage been more true in a card trick than with this effect. Bich's effect is perfectly constructed, and a miracle to see performed. I love this construction. You show four blue-backed cards. Then you essentially flip them over to show that they're now red-backed (most people in the audience are thinking . . . double backed cards). Then you turn them over again to cleanly show four faces and the blue-backs are nowhere to be found.

It's as close to a sucker effect as you can get without being cheesy and insulting. The gimmicks are pretty easy to work with. After just a few seconds playing with them I was pretty much able to get the hang of using them. For $30 bucks you get all the (Mandolin Backs) cards you need, an instructional DVD and a small (4 pages) full color booklet. The price is good even though the DVD quality is pretty rocky by today's standards.

The DVD shows several excellent different handling ideas. They're all really good. However, the only complaint I have is that the best handling on the DVD (The Asher Twist Handling) is Performance Only. You have to spend another $11 bucks to buy that handling. That's it folks. This is one solid effect/method and product.

Final Verdict:
4.5 Stars with a Stone Status of GEM.
