Random I-Tunes Song of The Moment: Pick Me Up On Your Way Down By Patsy Cline

For $70 bucks you get six well made keys (1 regular and 5 gimmicks), a well produced DVD and a nice little cloth drawstring bag, and a concept with a lot of potential.

This is a pretty solid product overall. Let me, briefly, touch on a few annoyances . . . first, if you were to change the keys to washers, you'd have Jay Sankey's "Holy Trilogy" (i.e., Holy Moly, Holy Stretch and UnHoly). The routines and gimmicks are extremely similar and at the very least, a nod to Jay should have been made, but as far as I could tell there was no mention of Jay.

The other "annoyance" is more of a warning to those who purchase it. Please overlook Petty's dry and unengaging presentation. It may cause you to overlook the potential of the effect and the included gimmicks. A lot of routines, effects and ideas can come from these props.

Some of the handling/setup, however, requires a bit of impractical pocket space management for those wanting to do it multiple times in an evening. However, it's not so impractical that it's completely unworkable.

The props are extremely well made; The ad copy is absolutely accurate. That's always a major plus in my book. Thank you Mr. Petty for honest advertisement. It's refreshing in our world. There is one minor thing, however. In the video clip, Petty makes the statement that two keys can be handed out and examined. That's not entirely accurate. You create the illusion that two keys have been examined. Much like a set of linking rings where it appears that every single ring has been examined, but in reality, clever handling has created that illusion. It's a minor point because I believe the intentions where honest.

Finally, the overall teaching quality is pretty solid as well. I really have no complaints about this product. If you like the effect then you'll be happy with the product. The only question is do you feel like $70 is worth the price of the gimmicks. They are very well made, and will last your entire life. So if you're looking for a pretty portable effect with a lot of potential, this might be the ticket.

Final Verdict:
4 stars with a Stone Status of Gem.
