Random I-Tunes Song of The Moment: Eagles Fly By Sammy Hagar

For $60 bucks, you get a spiral bound notebook, a cardboard gimmick and a 5ish minute DVD.

Everything included is very well made, but $60 bucks is a little steep. The method is clever and pretty much self working. However, it's a little tricky to make sure that the coins don't talk too soon. You'll notice in the demo and the DVD that the effect is never done without a music track playing. My guess is that they're trying to hide the fact that the coins talk.

Additionally, I think the routine is a bit long. Too much non-magic happening, particularly since Carax uses this as an opener in strolling situations. To me this would be much better in the middle of a set show, especially since you have to do this on a soft surface like a card mat. Tables don't fit the bill.

So here's the deal, if you understand that this is not the best for strolling and that there is some risk that the coins will throw you under the bus on occasion and if you think it's a good trick, I think you'll be happy with the purchase. The product and gimmick is well made. The gimmick can be adapted to any notepad with a cardboard backing.

Me personally, if there wasn't the risk of coins clinking together too soon, I might consider this for my parlor act. Though the price is a little high in my opinion.

Final Verdict:
3 stars with a Stone Status of gem (with a little g)
