Starlight Black Hole Playing Cards Review

One fancy deck of cards and ten bucks. Is it gem or is it rubble? Stay tuned to find out.

Effect/Method

Product Quality

The cards are top quality Bicycle brand playing cards that handle as good as any standard Bicycle deck. The art work is space-like and glowy. The cards do not have borders, so this may be an issue for some, but other than that, the cards are beautiful.

Final Thoughts

The question is . . . will you use them?

Final Verdict:
5 Stars with a Stone Status of Gem.

Glad you are back broski! Don’t over do it now!
I don’t use fancy-smancy cards either with the exception of the bicycle 1800 I think they are called, they look all weathered and old. A routine I came up with where cards are restored to new one by one, basically just a series of various color changes. My issue with cards that are printed all over on the face is they tend to become sticky with use. Not sure if its just the 1800s or what but because of that I avoid decks like this.

@Jay – Thanks brother. Yep. That’s the same way I use those types of cards . . . a routine where the structure “explains” the use of the card(s). I’ve considered getting a deck of those “old” bikes. I’ve got a few routine ideas with them.

    That looks awsome!!!
Very beautiful deck, will fit nicely in my decks collection.
I really like the box design as well.

Fun review! And beautiful cards, but I agree with you about these types of decks…Although they’re unique and all, I feel that it gives the audience the feeling that you’re “up to something”….and that it’s a type of trick deck. But yes, I do agree also about the “old deck” bicycles. I recently got a pack and they’re just plain fun to play with, and people get a kick out of them. Perhaps it’s their ingrained “folksiness”(?) that gives them a broader appeal. Think?
anyway, thanks for the fun review, and great spreads too!

@Daniel – Thanks for the comment. I certainly get the appeal of collecting the cards. It’s just like anything else (coin collectors, stamp collectors, Matchbox car collectors, etc.), or even just using them to play cards, but they just don’t (in my less than humble opinion) belong in a magic act.
